Heedless

Our sins stem only from our heedlessness

And were Only one sin to exist…

Heedlessness Of God

would be sufficient

And if there were only one sign for the wicked

Enough would be

their absence of repentance

Because recognition of fault

is necessary for forgiveness

But if one is pleased

appeased in his heedlessness

Then he is blind of his need to be forgiven

And he is full of all sins,

even if he be sinless

Because recognition of God is our sole and only purpose

For which God brought all things into existence

And placed them at our feet and in our service

That it be He that we turn to in true worship

Not only in rituals

for name sake

in lip service

But in a consuming,

Preoccupying,

Utter

devotion

That penetrates far beyond the surface

In which vanishes all that which is selfish

Which annihilates all other than His interests

In which lovers are lost in He to whom is due all worship

So that to all others one then becomes heedless

Wake up!  Oh sleeper who is sleeping

Dreamer perhaps you should have been heeding

Steeped are you in the sound of your own speaking

Deluded, you have lost much of the meanings.

On that Day

On that day only those who believe will achieve felicity
A near victory for those who strove patiently
Who bore any injury or calamity
Yet, still behaved gratefully
Who in the face of of difficulty
Preserved with renewed energy
Who relied on His Majesty
Their desires were the casualty
As they fought the “self” valiantly
They gave the best of this world
Because they understood the reality
For the believers on that day is the victory!
While hearts are full of fear
And made light with anxiety
Their hearts are made firm and are filled with tranquility
The eyes of man afflicted, made blind from transgressing
On pillars of light the faithful sit
What a sight they’re commanding!

My love indicated by gestures
Thoughts symbolised in letters
My love found its origins in gratitude
My love for You is not conventional
My love for You is in principle
My love for You is a reflection of Your magnitude
My love for You is as well known unspoken
In sujood, in silence
Unbroken…

The splendid, splendiferous

Rubbish we’re fed by the media

Has our minds encompassed by non-sense

[Our brains adapt to the hogwash]

Until a non-sense world begins making sense to us

Until making sense then becomes far too laborious

The news-casters & politicians are paid to think for us

So it seems more appropriate

Not to get involved in their business

Plug in the tube & out your brains

And sit politely quiet and listen

And as if it couldn’t become more splendiferous

As the glow glows over the vision

Hours of devotion to the non-sensical

Has nearly now grown into a religion

And the future now looks even More splendiferous

Now that idleness has grasped our undivided attention

There’s no need to heed the cries of our little ones

No! As the media now raises up our children.

Welcome all, to the official blog of Yusuf Robinson, otherwise known as Dr. Suf (pronounced “Soof”).
Dr. Suf has been a natural “social scientist” from a young age. In time, he put pen to paper, divulging his assessment of the world around him. Since then, his work has developed a style composed of clever rhyming schemes and vivid themes for the mind to wonder, while the heart ponders.
Perhaps you will notice his own special rhythm, the common thread in all his poems. He lives and breathes Islam, and in his poetry it shows.
Most suitable to be vocalized in public poetry readings, Dr. Suf’s poetry addresses the ills of society, the realities of this and the life to come, and the love from one to another…It is on this note that his blog has lovingly been designed, by his biggest fan, as a platform for his work both old and new. Enjoy, Inshaa’Allaah! (meaning: If God/The Creator Wills)
